Orientation Issues

Orientation issues

To any oriented knot, one can form three related knots: the string orientation can be reversed, the mirror image can be formed, or both operations can be performed. In KnotInfo the PD notation specifies a particular knot including its orientation. The diagrams are consistent with the PD notation. As far as we know, all listed invariants that depend on the choice are consistent with the the PD notation. (This includes such invariants as the signature, the Jones polynomial, and various HF invariants.
